Yes, it's a silly play on words, but anyway.... I have been thinking a lot lately about Baroque and it's heavy influence in design, even today. Baroque is such an emotional and detailed period in art, music, textiles, design and (of course) religion. My favorite looks influenced by this period are baroque-style pieces injected into a structured, clean and modern space. For example, a gold-gilded scrolling mirror (beckoning for you to come adore yourself in it) takes its place as the honored guest when displayed in a room of minimalist discipline. This trend has been continuing for sometime now; does that mean it still a trend? With baroque's heavy influence in our culture which spanned three centuries, perhaps this is not a trend at all.
